This HDD recorder was primarily built for the sony range of camcorders to work along wth the tape recording, the recorder uses the ilink standard to control the HDD from the camera, but it will work with many other professional cameas wich use the ilink system, it will work with some cameras which do not have the ilink output as it has a FOLLOW mode which detects the digital video input. The recorer is in full working order and ready to go. There is a small hole drilled next to the power input which a previous owner has done at some point, but the recorder is fully servicable and this has no efect on it.
